Officer David Leonard George Pino, # 616

D.O.B. October 17, 1955  D.O.D. February 21, 2006

On February 21, 2006, Officer David L. Pino passed away at the Lincoln County Medical Center after a short bout with cancer.  Dave was a decorated veteran after having served with the United States Marine Corps and the Wyoming National Guard.   He had been with the Ruidoso Police Department for over four years and prior to that had served as a deputy with the Don Ana Sheriff's department.  Officer Pino went above and beyond his regular duties as a patrol officer.   The motto, "To Protect and Serve" is not only a statement, but also was his way of life.  He served his community and nation with pride, honor, and integrity.

Robert Lu Jane, #650 Animal Control Officer

D.O.B.  July 7, 1936 D.O.D. December 6, 2006

 

On December 6, 2006, Robert Lu Jane passed away at his home from a short bout with cancer.  Robert was known for his ability to handle a job that required tact and compassion as RPD's Animal Control Officer.  He was also in the movies for a while in his younger years. He also served in the Army's 101st Airborne, the Band of Brothers.  He was a man of integrity and love.

Detective James Benjamin Biggs, #603

D.O.B.  January 4, 1950  D.O.D.  March 5, 2007

 

 

On March 5, 2007, Jim Biggs passed away at his home.  Jim was known for his expansive smile that matched his personality and enthusiasm.  He worked for the police department since October of 1988 and looked forward to retiring in 20 months.  Jim was one of the founders of the Lincoln County Crimestoppers.  He was the crime scene analyst for the department.  His enthusiasm and dedication to this departement will be remembered forever.
